Movie Review: Everybody’s Fine

16 Jan

My friend suggested this movie to watch, she said it’s a good one and worth it as it has deeper meanings, which was true.

Everybody’s fine is about a guy (Robert De Niro) living alone after his wife passed away. His 4 children are living in different states and minding their own lives but he tries his best to bring them back together every now and then for a family reunion. Robert has been always tough around his kids to make the best out of them and he thought he succeeded until the day they bail on him to come for the family reunion, so he decides to surprise them and visit each one of them. However this surprise turns out to be a life changing experience for him where he knows the reality behind his kids and the lives they are living.

The meaning behind this movie is that a lot of parents set high expectations for their kids and push them to be the best, but that doesn’t work out all the time and could somehow affect their decisions and happiness. The first thing i have told my friend after i watched the movie is that “you should have made my parents watch this not me” cuz it seems like parents need some reality check from time to time and know how to appreciate their kids other than pushing them to be the best when they are already good enough.

If you are looking for a good quiet night movie, watch this with your family.

Rating: 7.5/10
