my favourite book from childhood, apart from Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl classics, was a book called “the owl that was afraid of the dark” by Jill Tomlinson..
it is an amazing story about a little owl, called plop, that doesn’t like the dark – which is relatively unheard of in the owling world ;p as owls are a nocturnal animal… everyday there is a series of events which slowly help Plop to become accustomed to the dark…
personally – if i had to pick a favourite bird – it would have to be an owl.. it is so beautiful and so majestic somehow.. although i have never seen one in person..
i would recommend this book for all young teenagers and the little ones – who can be read the story!
its brilliant!
i haven’t been able to find it for ages – but finally found it in Waterstones in London
Oh, you just took me back around 20 years………… I remember this!! I loved it!! Thank you for rekindling my childhood memories, this was a nice thing to read on a Sunday morning :*
