change: blackberry to samsung s4

as i converted to the Samsung S4… my best friend wrote on my facebook wall:

“RIM is now crying as they have lost their last loyal customer”

i am no longer a Blackberry girl (regardless of my love for the fruit ;p)

i am a converted Samsung chica..

how do i feel?

instantly more hip and cool – not having to carry around my chunky (it wasn’t that chunky) blackerry.. and having a nice new sleek phone..

additionally – all the cool features and apps mean that i never have a minute to be bored! its an always on kinda phone – my kinda person ;)

i also am now able to join the world of instagram – which has been all the rage since about a year now ;p u know what they say – better late than never..

i find the touch scree typing to be a bit of a mission – and battery life won’t last me a whole day – that’s for sure (esp as i turn of all LED notifications and keep looking into my phone to see if i have some notifications…

however, i shall conquer all! (with a lot of help from Moody who I have been harassing at random moments of the day ;p)

finally! i no longer use the blackberry! ;p

people will stop making fun of me ;p

i want the samsung galaxy s4

here’s the news.. i still own a blackberry!

in Dubai it isn’t so much of a big deal – most people at work still seem to be sporting the blackberry!

however, everytime i come to Kuwait! i get so much fun made of me!!!!!!!!! ;p

that in itself is not a problem! but my phone (the blackberry 9900 – white) is not in tatters… not physically – but it seems to be scarred in some way!

it is soo sooooo soooooo slow sometimes!

it doesn’t tell me when i have got calls – my best friend called me yesterday and i didn’t get any call! which i found supppperrr strange!

and its just super annoying now!

i now have my eyes set on the samsung galaxy s4! – please come out soon! ;p

it looks like such a cooolll phoneeee!

blackberry malfunctions

so :D

third time all my data got deleted from blackberry!

no i’m not happy about it – its a ‘why does this always happen to me’ smile!

its just not cool! it asks me for passwords and then doesn’t accept any.. it did that once when i was trying to be good and back up my data! like seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is problems like this which are making me consider moving to iphone.. i’m tired of losing my contacts so many times and my settings changed – i have had the same settings on my phone for the past 4 years – just the way i like them! so to have them changed 3 times in like 3 months – super not cool!

so has anyone else encountered really frustrating problems like that on blackberry?

 

Event: Blackberry Bloggers Sneak Peek

Last week we were invited to Blackberry’s bloggers night for a quick sneak peek on their new updates, new devices and Blackberry Bonus. Being a loyal user to Blackberry I had to attend to see what ill be looking forward to the next couple of months. The event took place at the JW Marriott, and as usual, the setting was cute! (check out the previous event HERE) I really like how they make everything with blackberry! I was this close to steal one of the red cushions :P

The event started with Mr. Mohammed Al-Mefleh welcoming us and introducing us to Mr. Sandeep Saihgal were they unveiled 2 new devices joining the Blackberry family BlackBerry Curve 9320 and BlackBerry Curve 9220:

Now what i really liked is their announcement about Blackberry 10 !! Now that’s something I cant wait for, I think it will shift blackberry to a whole new level, checkout this video for an idea about Blackberry 10:

Last week I was surprised to receive a pack of Dunkin Donuts that I didn’t order, when I opened it I was excited to see our name on the donuts! isn’t that cute?

Starting this Wednesday May 16, all Blackberry users can show their device at Dunkin Donuts stores: 360 Mall, Al Kout Mall, and Salmiya branch and register their Blackberry PIN to receive a free donut and coffee for you and your friend. This offer is only valid on every Wednesday from 6pm till 10pm. Customers will also go into a draw to win exciting weekly prizes.

Event: RIM Exclusive Bloggers Showcase

Yesterday we were invited to attend and exclusive event for bloggers by RIM (Research In Motion) to showcase their recent updates and news. The event took place at the Marina Hotel (Atlantis Restaurant) where they redecorated the place with a very nice couches, tables and lights. I really liked how they looked into details to organize this event.

After saying hi to our friends, we were introduced to Mr. Mohammed Al Mefleh (Director Product Management in the Middle East) who went on stage and had an informative slide show for us. The main points that were discussed were:

1. The launch of OS 7.1

2. The new OS 2.0 for Blackberry PlayBook

3. The new BBM update 6.1

During the presentation, the passed around to everyone to checkout the Blackberry Porsche design which cost around 2,000$ and recently launched in Kuwait. To me the advised looked pretty cool and fast, I just don’t know if i ever get one how long it will survive with me! it seemed pretty fragile and sensitive, that just doesn’t work with me :P They also passed around a couple of the new generation Blackberries with the new operating system.

After we were done with the presentation and the Q&A, dinner was served (which was delicious btw), i got the chance to have a little chat with Mr. Al Mefleh. I asked him about a couple of things regarding the battery life and how to make it last longer. He advised me with alot of things and made sure that I change my old Blackberry Bold 9780 to the new one and gave it to me on the spot :D I felt special even though everyone got a new one anyway :P

I would like to thank RIM for organizing this event, it was definitely successful and would love to attend the next coming events, that’s another reason for me to stay loyal to Blackberry :D
